Childcare Subsidy & Free Kinder
Village Early Education Heathmont supports families by offering both the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and the Victorian Government’s Free Kindergarten program.
Starting your child’s early learning journey is a big step, and we understand that practical considerations matter just as much as finding the right environment. Many families at our Heathmont childcare centre access the Child Care Subsidy to help reduce their out-of-pocket fees. The level of support depends on your family’s circumstances, and for many parents, it makes long day care far more manageable. You can find a simple overview of the process in our guide on How to Apply for Child Care Subsidy.
Families joining our Heathmont kindergarten program may be able to access Victoria’s Free Kindergarten initiative. This provides funded hours for eligible 3- and 4-year-old children, helping ease costs while still giving children access to a structured and supportive learning experience.
Our Partners
We partner with trusted organisations and specialists to bring meaningful experiences, valuable resources and additional support to our children, families and teams.
Frequently Asked Questions
What ages does Village Early Education accept?
We welcome children from 6 weeks through to 5 years of age at our Heathmont childcare centre, walking alongside families from those very first early months right through to the kindergarten years. Each stage of childhood is supported with care, patience and programs that gently grow with your child.
Our childcare for 6 weeks to 1 year focuses on building secure relationships and consistent routines that help babies feel safe and settled. As children move into our childcare for 1-3 year olds, you will see confidence grow as their language skills improve and friendships are formed. In our daycare and kindergarten for 3-5 year olds, children are supported to embrace learning with curiosity and joy, feeling confident, capable and ready for the next stage of their journey.
How are outdoor activities integrated into the curriculum?
Outdoor activities are an integral part of the daily curriculum. We use nature-inspired playscapes designed by leading landscape architects to encourage physical activity, environmental awareness and exploratory learning, ensuring that children benefit from the outdoors in meaningful ways.
What technology is available to parents to stay connected with their child’s progress?
At Village Early Education, we utilise OWNA. This user-friendly app allows parents to stay informed about their child’s progress, view learning goals, access weekly menus prepared by our chefs and manage their child’s enrolment and fees. This tool fosters a strong partnership between home and the centre, ensuring consistent and open communication.
What meals are provided?
Our on-site chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals daily for all children, following the Australian Dietary Guidelines and Guide to Healthy Eating. We cater to all dietary needs, including allergies and specific requirements. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided daily, with breakfast and a late snack available during designated times.
If your child has specific dietary needs, we will put a documented risk minimisation plan in place to help manage them safely.
How can I enrol my child, and what is the process?
To enrol your child, please complete the enquiry form. Our team will then contact you to discuss your specific needs. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our community!
