Village Early Education’s long day care supports children from birth to 5 years, with extended hours that work around your day. Our programs bring together early learning and kindergarten in one place, so families have consistent care through every stage at their local childcare centre.
If you are wondering what long day care looks like in Australia, it is a full-day early learning program designed for families who need care beyond standard session times. Long day care combines education and care, guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), to support each child’s growth.
For your child, long day care means a full day of learning, play and care in a safe and familiar environment.
For younger children, long day care offers flexibility that fits around your routine. You can drop off and pick up when convenient, which is helpful for working parents or families with more than one child.
Long day care kindergarten, often called integrated kindergarten, blends a structured program with extended care. While learning sessions run during the day, additional care is available from early morning through to late afternoon, supporting busy schedules.

Our programs combine the joy of play with meaningful learning experiences, supporting children as they explore and develop early skills. Guided by the VEYLDF, everything we offer is shaped around each child’s interests and curiosity.
Children are provided with nutritious meals throughout the day, supporting their energy and overall wellbeing. Menus change with the seasons and reflect what children need as they grow.
We stay connected with families through the OWNA app, sharing updates and daily moments. Combined with flexible daycare hours, this makes it easier for parents to stay involved, even on busy days.
We stay closely connected to the local community through a range of experiences that extend beyond the centre. Children take part in incursions and excursions that bring new learning into their everyday routine, while partnerships with local schools help support a more familiar transition to the next stage.

Our nursery spaces are calm and nurturing, focused on routine, comfort and early development. Educators take the time to build strong relationships, supporting each child through feeding, rest and sensory play.
At this stage, children are more active and curious. Our program supports language development and social interaction, with plenty of opportunities to explore and learn through play.
As children prepare for their next big step, we support their school readiness in a way that still feels joyful and play-filled. Our childcare approach for 3–5-year-olds helps children form friendships and feel at ease in learning spaces.
We understand that choosing long day care is an important decision for families. The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) can help ease the cost by reducing daily fees based on your situation.
There’s also added support through funded kindergarten programs, including Free Kindergarten for 3 and 4-year-old children. When combined, these options can make long day care feel more achievable while supporting your child’s early learning journey.
At Village Early Education, we offer regular enrolments, with additional care available where possible. When you enrol, we’ll complete a Complying Written Arrangement (CWA), which outlines your child’s agreed sessions of care, fees and enrolment details.
If your family’s needs change, we ask for at least two weeks’ written notice to update your child’s permanent booked days. If you need an additional or different day outside your regular booking, please speak with your centre team. We’ll always do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability.
During enrolment and orientation, we’ll let you know everything your child needs to bring for a comfortable and enjoyable day.

Starting your journey with us is easy. Many families begin with an enquiry, followed by a tour where you can get a feel for the centre and meet our team.
After that, you can join the waitlist and we’ll reach out when a place opens up. Once you are ready to go ahead, enrolment is confirmed with a simple agreement covering your child’s schedule and fees.
The cost of long day care can vary depending on the centre, your child’s enrolled days and your family’s circumstances.
At Village Early Education, we help make things more manageable by supporting families to access government funding, including the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which is applied directly to reduce your out-of-pocket fees.
You may also be eligible for funded programs, including Free Kindergarten, offering further support during your child’s early learning years.
