Our Curriculum
At Village, our approach is centred around a play-based curriculum that supports children’s natural curiosity and encourages a lifelong love of learning. We create environments that invite children to explore, discover, and engage in meaningful experiences each day.
Our centres offer a range of engaging spaces and opportunities, from creative activities to hands-on experiences, all thoughtfully designed to support children’s development. Through our Kindergarten Program, we focus on building confidence, independence, and key skills that support a smooth transition to school.
Our Learning Environments
Our learning environments are thoughtfully designed to support children’s wellbeing, curiosity, and development. Across both indoor and outdoor spaces, we create settings that feel safe, welcoming, and engaging for every child.
We encourage children to explore, create, and take an active role in their environment. Through a balance of child-led and guided experiences, educators support each child’s learning in a way that feels natural and meaningful.
Each centre is designed to offer a mix of comfort, stimulation, and opportunity, helping children feel confident, supported, and ready to learn.
Our Meals
We understand the important role nutrition plays in children’s growth and development. As part of our Kindergarten Learning Program, we provide balanced, nourishing meals that support children’s health, energy, and wellbeing throughout the day.
Our menus are thoughtfully planned using fresh, quality ingredients, creating meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable. By offering a variety of foods, we help children develop positive eating habits and a healthy relationship with food from an early age.
Our Educators
Our Kindergarten Program is led by Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registered Early Childhood Teachers, supported by a team of dedicated educators. Together, they create a safe, supportive environment where children feel confident to learn and grow.
Our educators are passionate about early learning and take a thoughtful, responsive approach to each child’s development, building strong relationships and supporting individual needs.
Our Community Engagement
We connect children with the world beyond the centre through regular incursions and excursions. These experiences might include creative sessions, movement programs, local outings, and opportunities to explore the community.
As part of our Kindergarten Program, we also support children’s transition to school through school readiness experiences. This includes building connections with local schools, helping children become familiar with new environments, and supporting their confidence as they move into the next stage of learning.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, and how does it influence your kindergarten program?
The Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) is Victoria’s specific curriculum framework for early childhood education. It guides our educational practices by outlining the principles, practices, and outcomes necessary to promote children’s comprehensive development. By aligning our kindergarten program with the VEYLDF, we ensure that our curriculum supports cognitive, emotional, physical, and social growth, assisting in preparing children to transition to primary school.
How does the funded kindergarten program in Victoria benefit my child?
Victoria’s funded kindergarten program makes high-quality early education accessible and affordable. The funding helps cover enrolment costs, ensuring every child can benefit from our enriched learning environment without financial burden. This allows us to provide various educational resources and experiences that enhance your child’s learning journey.
What technology is available to parents to stay connected with their child’s progress?
At Village Early Education, we utilise OWNA. This user-friendly app allows parents stay informed about their child’s progress, view learning goals, access weekly menus prepared by our chefs, and manage their child’s enrolment and fees. This tool fosters a strong partnership between home and the centre, ensuring consistent and open communication.
What support do you offer for families applying for the funded kindergarten program?
Families are not required to apply for the Best Start, Best Life reforms funding. We work with families to provide information on our Kindergarten program and assist in completing any additional information required for the Department of Education. The fee subsidy is applied to your fees and is visible on your statement of account.
What does Free Kinder mean?
Free Kinder is a Victorian Government initiative that helps reduce the cost of Kindergarten for 3 and 4-year-old children enrolled in a funded Kindergarten program. At participating long day care services like Village Early Education, the funding is applied as a fee offset to your childcare fees while your child still benefits from integrated long day care and Kindergarten programs.
