Springvale South

See Our Newly-Built Childcare Centre

This centre is purpose-built and recently opened – the rooms, the outdoor spaces and the equipment. Families enrolling now will be among the first to use our daycare facilities in Springvale South as it settles into daily routines.

The single-storey layout makes movement through the building effortless. Rooms are open and connected, which makes it simple for children to move between spaces during the day. There is a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, so children are not spending long stretches in one place unless they want to.

There are six rooms in total and a large outdoor area of more than 800 square metres. Outside spaces include sandpits and water play areas that are used as part of everyday recreation. Inside, the rooms are set up with practical and age-appropriate learning resources rather than decorative displays.

There is a separate sleep room for nursery-aged children so babies can rest away from busier areas. Parking is available onsite, and access in and out of the centre is straightforward.

Cathy

Introducing our Centre Manager

Cathy is the Centre Manager at Village Early Education Springvale South. She started her career in early childhood as a trainee at ABC Early Learning and worked across all age groups. It was there that she realised this was the work she wanted to do long-term.

After moving to Darwin and taking time away from the sector to raise her two children, Cathy returned to Victoria and stepped into a Centre Manager role. She stayed in that role for eight years, learning as she went and building her leadership skills along the way. More recently, she worked at a new centre in Mornington for almost three years. Cathy is often present in classrooms, engaging with both the team and children and participating in their daily routines and learning experiences. Cathy is often found engaging with both the team and children and participating in their daily routines and learning experiences.

Be Part of Our Village

Our childcare in Springvale South is shaped around connection, routine and a great sense of community. The centre has been designed to feel welcoming and familiar, with learning spaces that support children’s social, emotional and physical development through everyday play and interaction. Children move between indoor areas and outdoor playspaces, with opportunities to explore and build confidence at their own pace. This approach supports families looking for daycare options in Springvale South that feel grounded and focused on each child rather than a one-size-fits-all model.

Start Your Child’s Learning Journey Here

We understand that families want care that focuses on early childhood learning and school readiness. At Village Early Education Springvale South, our approach supports children’s development through meaningful, play-based learning rather than fixed or scheduled programs.

Our learning experiences are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework. This ensures children are supported across all areas of development while still having the freedom to explore, discover and learn in ways that feel natural and engaging.

Play-Based Learning
Children learn best through play. Educators create intentional learning experiences that emerge from children’s interests, encouraging curiosity and enhancing problem-solving skills while allowing learning to unfold at each child’s pace. Learning spaces include quiet corners with homely seating for children who enjoy reading, as well as kitchen corners designed for imaginative play.
Language, Literacy and Early Thinking
Everyday moments such as conversations, stories, songs and shared experiences help children develop early language, literacy and thinking skills. Small world experiences are set up to reflect children’s current interests, including dinosaurs, farm animals, sea animals and doll play. These experiences support storytelling and communication as children ask questions and share their thoughts with others.
Social and Emotional Development
Building relationships, learning to work alongside others and developing emotional awareness are part of daily life at the centre. Through shared play, role play and group experiences, children learn to take turns, express emotions and build empathy. Educators support children to develop resilience and a genuine sense of belonging by creating environments where children feel heard and included.
Physical and Creative Exploration
Children are encouraged to create and express themselves through a range of indoor and outdoor experiences. Spacious outdoor yards feature unique play equipment, including a train climbing frame with a slide, a fort with a telescope and steering wheel that inspires pirate ship adventures, a safari truck for imaginative travel and a boat with a water pump for water play and fishing games, and so much more.
Incursions and Excursions
From time to time, Springvale South may offer incursions or excursions that enrich children’s learning. Incursions include dancing classes, while excursions may look like visits to local parks and shopping centres. These opportunities vary throughout the year and are planned based on children’s interests, community connections and practical considerations.

Get Support with Your Childcare Fees

We understand that childcare is a big financial commitment for families, and there are supports in place to help make early learning more accessible. The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a government payment that helps reduce the cost of childcare for eligible families. The amount of subsidy you receive depends on factors such as your household income, activity levels and the type of care your child attends. CCS is paid directly to the childcare provider, which means your reduced fees are usually applied straight away. If you would like help understanding the process, our guide on how to apply for Child Care Subsidy walks you through each step.

Families may also be eligible for the Victorian Government’s Free Kindergarten program, which provides funded kindergarten hours for three and four-year-old children. This program supports children’s learning in the years before school while helping to ease the cost for families. You can read more about how the Free Kindy program works and who is eligible.
